Wardrobe Maximization

Wardrobe maximization is important during your weight loss journey. As you go through our program, your clothing may begin to feel loose. While that is a great sign and indicates weight loss, you also may be worried about purchasing a whole new wardrobe. Well worry no more! At 7Company we can show you how to make the most of your current wardrobe before tossing out your existing clothing.

Throughout the year we have wardrobe transition workshops hosted by owner of CCJ Designers Lounge, Crystal Jones. She has a passion for clothing and helping women find their perfect fit. The purpose of this workshop has been to inspire women in creating an individual and authentic appearance that they have envisioned for themselves. Although every woman is different, this will give you an opportunity to decide how you wish to be represented and projected to the world.

Before throwing out articles of clothing that you assume are no longer going to fit, take a step back and consider how you could make them useful for your new frame. Spend an entire weekend going through your closet trying on clothes to see what fits and what doesn’t.  Then see how you can make modifications so they don’t go to waste.

How to Maximize Your Current Wardrobe

One way to modify your wardrobe, is to break out your sewing kit. See if you can make simple improvements in order to make your pieces more wearable. Locate the places where the clothing item is too large and add pins. Generally, you can take a seam in as much as four inches before throwing the look of the garment off. However, if your not a seamstress or lack sewing experience this may be difficult. If you cannot do this on your own, take the pieces to a local tailor which is a much more cost effective option than buying new clothes all together.

When going through your wardrobe, you’ll also need to consider your body type. You want to style your outfits properly to accentuate your best features. Knowing how to dress for your body can make a big difference in how you look and feel.

There are a few different common body types. An hourglass shape is curvy with a tiny waist. A slim lower body with little weight around your middle would be classified as an apple shape. If you’re not very curvy and your hips are around the same size as your waist then you have a banana shape. Lastly, a pear shape is when the widest part of your body is your hips.

Put this information to you use when you attend one of  ourwardrobe transition workshops. The next wardrobe transition workshop will be Saturday January 21st at 11 am. You’ll be able to really see how to maximize your clothing essentials. Contact us to learn more!

Chicken kebabs are a great meal filled with protein. They are perfect for grilling outside during the warm months and broiling inside during the cold months. This recipe is our take on the Indian Chicken Tikka Kebabs. No matter the time of year, you won’t be disappointed when you make chicken kebabs!

8 ounces boneless chicken

1 medium green pepper/ yellow pepper/red pepper

Mushrooms

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

1/2 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon Tandoori masala

Salt to taste

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon oil

1 tablespoon Chat masala (optional)

Cut chicken into small bite sized pieces. Chop mushrooms, zucchini and peppers similarly. You can also use a small tomato and use here as well. Make sure to de-seed it.
